Rest and Restore! It’s all about letting go.

 

Gentle, supportive, and therapeutic are just a few words that describe restorative yoga. At its core, restorative yoga is a practice of passive healing. Using bolsters, blocks, and blankets to practice postures that feel good in the body and offer the opportunity to release physical, mental, and emotional stress. Appropriate for all levels, restorative yoga is practiced at a slow pace, focusing on long holds, stillness, and deep breathing.

 

Held in the Quiet Corner Room.

Parkinson's Support Group

Wednesday, May 29 | 4:30-5:30 PM

This session will focus on groundbreaking clinical treatments that uses ketamine to help people with Parkinson’s ages 40-80 deal with depression. Taking part in this trial could help with the discovery of important new treatments for depression in Parkinson’s disease.

Intro to Tai Chi Class

LEARN THE BASICS!

Often referred to as a ‘moving meditation’ practice, Tai chi Chuan consists of movement in a slow defined manner, coordinated with breathing. Originating in China as a physical activity leading to martial arts.

 

Many of Tai Chi’s health benefits have been validated by recent research; this includes an increase in lower body strength and balance, calm the mind, and an increase in body awareness. A great option for stress management, a regular practice can calm the mind and is welcoming to everyone.

Pelvic Floor and Exercise

The pelvic floor is a highly vascular part of the body with the nerves, muscles and connective tissue working together to provide organ support, bladder & bowel control, and even help to stabilize the spine and pelvis.

 

This workshop will address the pelvic floor musculature as a key part of the inner, deep core. You will learn how to do the Kegel exercise correctly, practice gentle comprehensive exercises, and receive a protocol for daily practice.
