Tower One/Tower East presents a four part series in cooperation with Jewish Family Services of New Haven. This series is supported in part by a grant from the Women of Vision Society of the Jewish Foundation of Greater New Haven.

The third session of the four part series – “Our Life Journeys” on February 10th @ 2pm, will be presented by Amy Rashba, LCSW, Jewish Family Services of New Haven, on the topic “Finding a Positive Attitude and an Affirming Resilience in Overcoming Illness.”

We all have had times in our lives when illness threatens our well-being. We are often left feeling like the rug has been pulled out from beneath us. Our bodies have betrayed us, our heads are spinning from scary medical terminology and we are asked to make crucial and hard choices too quickly.
Join Amy Rashba, LCSW, to talk about how to maintain a positive attitude and stay resilient when faced with illness. This interactive workshop will offer an opportunity to share our stories and gain strength from one another.
Spoiler Alert!! It may involve gentle chair yoga too!

The last session of the four part series – “Our Life Journeys” on February 17th @ 2pm, will be presented by Rabbi Hesch Sommer, Director of the Jewish Wellness and Healing Center, Jewish Family Services of New Haven, on the topic “How Our Sense of Self Changes Through Life Transitions.”
We see ourselves differently at various stages of our lives. Sometimes we wrestle with the changing sense of self and sometimes we embrace it (as a new beginning, as a feeling and redemptive moment in our lives). It is through an aware of the shifting sense of identity that we can hopeful feel a sense of fulfillment and purposefulness as we look back (and ahead) in our life’s journey.
