During the past year, individuals with hateful hearts attempted to instil fear into our respective faith communities. This bike ride/hike is New Haven's testament to their lack of success. As a response to hatred, we bond together in solidarity. Now it is time to celebrate good times with the same passion with which we mourn horrific ones.

Join together with your Jewish, Christian and Muslim friends on Sunday, April 28 at 11:30 AM to support the 11th Annual Rock to Rock Earth Day Ride. Connect with members of your New Haven community for a post-Passover, post-Easter, post-Shab-e-Barat multifaith day of cycling and hiking to support lots of great causes, culminating in a celebratory picnic in East Rock Park.

Please note: this event is taking place on the Sunday AFTER the official Rock to Rock ride (which occurs on Saturday, April 27) to accommodate observant Jewish riders/hikers who would be unable to participate on Saturday due to the laws of Shabbat observance.

RIDE/HIKE DETAILS:

Meet at Common Ground High School at the base of West Rock at 11 AM on Sunday, April 28 for a 12-mile route — with a stop in Wooster Square for the Cherry Blossom Festival — led by Paul Proulx from Outspokin. Cyclists will depart promptly at 11:30am.

Not a cyclist? Join us for a hike up East Rock starting at 12:30 PM. Contact Derek Holodak at dholodak@jewishnewhaven.org for more information about the hike and/or picnic.
