On Sunday, December 10, from 9:30 a.m. – 12:00 noon, the community is invited to participate in Congregation Mishkan Israel’s annual Mitzvah Mall. The Mitzvah Mall, which is co-sponsored by the synagogue’s Religious Education and Social Action Committees, provides an opportunity to give the gift of charity (tzedakah) for the holidays. Children and adults visit tables that are set-up by a variety of local, national and international agencies. Instead of purchasing a gift, children and adults make donations to the agencies of their choice. Donations are made in the name of a friend or relative, who receives a card from the agency informing them of the contribution made in their honor.

Agencies that have participated in the past include: Bawa Health Initiative, Columbus House, Connecticut Food Bank, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Habitat for Humanity, Heart to Heart, Jewish Family Services, Juvenile Diabetes, LEAP, The Diaper Bank, Remedy, Ronald McDonald House, Friends of Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital.
