As we light the menorah this Hanukkah, let us also light hope for the members of our community who have been affected by COVID-19. This holiday season, many households are struggling to put food on the table and keep a roof over their heads. To support those in need, the Jewish Federation and Jewish Foundation of Greater New Haven are running a drop-off food drive and appeal on Sunday, December 13 from 11 AM-1:30 PM. Drop off food for the Jewish Family Service of Greater New Haven (JFS) food pantry and/or make a donation to the COVID-19 Maimonides Response Fund. For food pantry donations, JFS is requesting oatmeal, cereal, peanut butter, white tuna, and canned or dry beans.

The COVID-19 Maimonides Response Fund has deployed over $290,000 in emergency grants for critical human needs. Now, thanks to the Jewish Federations of North America, there is a 50% match on all new gifts made between now and December 31. This helps our local Jewish agencies provide emergency grants for critical human needs such as food, housing, and mental health services.

Click HERE to donate online or drop off a check at one of our drive through locations during the food drive. Please make checks out to the Jewish Federation of Greater New Haven or the Jewish Foundation of Greater New Haven.
