Register in advance. Join historian and food guru Colin M. Caplan on a virtual journey into the history of the storied Lender's Bagels from the family's roots in Poland to the streets of New Haven and onto the freezers of America's households. This illustrated and narrated presentation will be held on Zoom providing safe, easy access to view and hear history come alive from your home. The legendary Marvin Lender will be joining us for a Q&A afterward!

Harry Lender began his bagelry as a street peddler on Oak Street in 1927 expanding this special style of Jewish bread to larger quarters and bringing in his entire family. After introducing mechanization Lender's began making frozen bagels and popularizing this food to the rest of the country. After years of success, the Lender family sold the company which has now been added to the roster of one the largest bakery groups in the world.
