Historically, the Jewish community of New Haven offers a special program "Kever Avot" the Sunday between Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur to provide a space and place for survivor families to come together to recite kaddish. This special Sunday often sees loved ones visiting cemeteries for this purpose. Since survivors have no cemetery to visit, the Holocaust Memorial on Whalley Avenue provides the venue for the gathering.
Program participants including Judy Alperin, Jewish Federation CEO and Danielle Kinstlinger, Yom Hashoah Chairperson.
