We have a day for giving thanks (Thanksgiving). We have two for getting deals (Black Friday and Cyber Monday). Now, we have #GivingTuesday, a global day dedicated to giving back. On Tuesday, December 1, charities, families, businesses, community centers, and students around the world will come together for one common purpose: to celebrate generosity and to give. It’s a simple idea. Join the JFS and be a part of a global celebration of a new tradition of generosity. JFS will be collecting non-perishable food (for the Food Assistance programs); gloves and hats/scarves for children and adults who use our various services; and new toys or store gift cards appropriate for foster children and clients between the ages of 4-18. We will be accepting these donations on Giving Tuesday, December 1 at the JFS Food Pantry, 1440 Whalley Avenue (first floor) in New Haven between 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. For more information please contact shagan@jfsnh.org or 203-389-5599, ext. 121.
