Something Familiar, Something Peculiar
A Comedy Tonight Music & More Stage Becomes a New York Comedy Club
Be prepared to laugh out loud when something familiar, something peculiar, Comedy Tonight!, comes to the Music & More stage at Congregation Beth Shalom Rodfe Zedek (CBSRZ) in Chester, turning it into a New York City comedy club on Sunday, January 27, 2018 at 8:00pm. This show features the comedic talents of Alexandra McHale and Johnny Lampert, both veterans of Comedy Central, network TV, casinos, and the NYC comedy club circuit. There will be a pre-show reception serving wine, beer, and seltzer. This show is for audiences of ages 18 years old and older.
Alexandra McHale was thrilled to make her network debut on NBC’s The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. She’s also been seen on the CBS The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn, Comedy Central’s Premium Blend and New Joke City with Robert Klein on the Metro Channel. After her appearance at the prestigious Montreal "Just For Laughs" Comedy Festival, The Hollywood Reporter cited Alexandra as one to watch "who scored points with quick barbs." Alexandra grew up in Connecticut before relocating to New York City, where she became a lifetime member of the prestigious Actors’ Studio and studied with acting greats such as Paul Newman, Sally Field and Ellen Burstyn. She is a frequent commentator on VH1’s I Love The 80’s, Supersecret TV Formulas and The 100 Most Cheesetastic Video Countdown. In addition to appearances on network television, Alexandra has headlined at over 300 colleges and was voted 2002 and 2003 Female Entertainer of the Year by the readers of Campus Activities Magazine, been nominated for 2005 Female Entertainer of the Year and was nominated Performer of the Year by the Association for the Promotion of Campus Activities.
Johnny Lampert is considered one of the premier comedians in the country. He is a regular at New York City’s and Los Angeles’ best comedy clubs including The Gotham Comedy Club, The Comic Strip, Caroline's Comedy Club and The Improv. Johnny has also made numerous appearances on national television including featured performances on MTV, A&E, Comedy Central, NBC, HBO Comedy Showcase and most recently on AXS TV's Gotham Comedy Live! Johnny’s four wildly successful appearances at Montreal’s "Just For Laughs" Festival led to his being named "Best Act" by The Montreal Gazette as well as the signing of a sitcom deal with The FOX network and Walt Disney Television. Johnny was also honored recently with, not one, but two of his routines being chosen for inclusion in the soon to be released book, "The Best Comedy Routines, Period" (Rugged Land Books, NY). In the casinos, Johnny has appeared at The Mirage, Foxwoods, Caesars Palace and The Claridge where he has worked with such stars as Dana Carvey, Michael Bolton, Chicago and Chris Rock. Johnny has also headlined the main room at Connecticut's Mohegan Sun Casino and Atlantic City's Borgata Hotel and Casino.
“I am thrilled to bring this comedy night to the Music & More stage,” comments David Zeleznik, Music & More producer and member of CBSRZ. “These two tremendously talented comedians will ensure laughter for the enjoyment of our audience,” concludes Mr. Zeleznik.
