Arts & Culture Festival at the JCC is a series of art, music and author events in November - December.
Muhammad Ali super-fan Rick Kaletsky will come to the JCC Vine Auditorium to speak about his book Ali & Me. Kaletsky operates a museum dedicated to Ali in his own home, and has authored this book to shed some light on one of the world’s greatest athletes. The talk will be followed by a Q&A session, and bagels and lox will be served. $15 per ticket, and the price includes a signed copy of Kaletsky’s book.
To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the “Thrilla in Manila,” the acclaimed Ali and Me: Through the Ropes is now available in its 4rd printing. It’s far different than other Muhammad Ali books. Rick’s special fan’s perspective is written in an informal style, flavored with boxing clichés, humor, and time landmarks (news events, national mood, political climate, fads). The refreshing angle fuels a wealth of rich emotion packed into a “coffee table” book wrapped in glossy soft cover, and featuring twenty (mostly rare) 8½” X 10” photos. Ali and Me also examines fighters and the fight game in depth, and paints vivid descriptions of ring action.
“THE GREATEST BOOK ABOUT ME IN THE WORLD.”
-Muhammad Ali (1983)
