We at the JCC are proud to present the most anticipated children's event of 2024: Touch-a-Truck! 

 

Touch-A-Truck at the JCC attracts hundreds of children and families for an interactive, hands-on-event that allows children to climb on, explore and discover their favorite trucks and vehicles, including fire engines, police cars and construction trucks. This special event includes over 20 different vehicles, food, arts & crafts, bounce house and DJ fun for everyone provided by Liverpool Productions! It's a childhood dream come to life, including activities that will keep the whole family entertained!

 

This one of a kind event will be held rain or shine.

 

Join us from 10:30 - 11:00 AM for a "Hold the Horn" Quiet Time for children with special needs and those with auditory sensitivity issues - no horns, music or sirens during that time.

    Have little ones in pre-K or younger? Adopting or expecting a new addition to your family soon? This community-wide event is a wonderful way for families to learn about all the local support available to help them as they embark on this journey. Featuring: expert presentations, breakout sessions, a Bump Booth (for photos), giveaways, a "Shalom Baby Café" and more!

Sponsorship Guidelines

Touch a Truck is marketed throughout the Greater New Haven County via print, banner, website and social media.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE:

 

To guarantee listing inclusion in the day of event printed materials, registration and payment must be received by April 29, 2024.

SPONSOR SIGNAGE AND PUBLICITY:

 

Sponsors may bring banners, signage, decorations, etc. to promote their business. Promotional materials appropriate for children, such as stickers, games and giveaways, are strongly encouraged.

PARTICIPATION GUIDELINES:

 

  • The Touch a Truck commitment form, sponsorship payment and Certificate of Liability Insurance and/or food service license must be received prior to the event in order to participate. No refunds will be provided unless otherwise agreed to by the JCC.
  • Vehicle space assignments will be determined by the JCC based upon the best interest of the event. 
  • Vehicles will be located on open blacktop. 
  • Vehicle participants acknowledge that a minimum of one adult representative must be present during the event to supervise the vehicle(s) between the hours of 10:30 am – 2:30 pm on Sunday, June 2, 2024. Vehicle representative should be able to provide a narrative description of the vehicle’s specification and/or services as well as facilitate a guided “tour” of the vehicle’s interior as allowable by the vehicle’s size.
  • Vehicle sponsors acknowledge that the nature of the Touch a Truck event involves the interaction of children with the sponsor’s vehicle so that the children are able to touch, see and explore the vehicle and learn about the vehicle’s function. The JCC will take appropriate measures to facilitate a safe event; however, the sponsor remains responsible for the supervision and safety of its vehicles.  The sponsor shall indemnify, save and hold harmless the JCC and its officers, directors and volunteers from all liability, loss, damage, claims, costs, demands and actions of any nature whatsoever arising out of the Touch a Truck event. 
  • Touch a Truck is marketed as an inclusive event for all children and attendees: as such, vehicle horns shall be disabled to prevent startling noise.
  • Vehicle participants must arrive on event day between 8:00 – 9:00am to set up. Vehicles requiring special accommodations, such as a large turning radius, will be asked to arrive early during event set-up. Vehicles are expected to stay the entire length of the event and may not leave until after the event’s conclusion at 2:30 pm.
  • Sponsors grant permission to the JCC to take photographs or record videos of vendor and/or display during the event for the purpose of promotion and publicity.
