We are now reopening the Beckerman Gymnasium for skill practice only. The JCC of Greater New Haven complies with the latest state and federal guidelines and CDC recommendations including social distancing and extensive cleaning protocols.

 

Basketball Rules

 

  • Must have a reservation to use basketball court - JCC MEMBERS ONLY!

  • MUST WEAR A MASK AT ALL TIMES

  • Must bring your own ball

  • ABSOLUTELY NO GAMES ALLOWED Practice skills only

  • Maximum of 4 participants at a time. One member of the group must sign up each participant at Jccnh.org/Log in/Scheduler/Basketball 6.

  • Check-in at the pool desk when you arrive for your reservation time

 

How to Register for Basketball Online

 

Only active JCC members may participate in Basketball at this time. Start by setting up your online account if you haven’t yet done so:

 

  • Log into your JCC member account here using your member username and password.

 

If you have NOT set up your on-line account, click Forgot Password/Create Logins? Type in your email address and press submit. If you get an error message or a request for your member number, email BarbaraZ@jccnh.org for assistance. 

 

  • Once logged in, you will see buttons for Account Information, Program Registration, and Scheduler. Basketball reservations will be done through Scheduler

  • After selecting Scheduler, you can choose the date that you wish to play, hit Search, and below you’ll see available open gym times. Click on a time and type in your name. You can also type in the name of your partner(s) (max = 4 participants). The system will ask you to select which player is the Host – you can name any player as Host. All players must be included on the roster in order to be admitted to the facility.

Racquetball & Pickleball

We are thrilled to announce that our racquetball and pickleball courts are now open to JCC members, by appointment only. The JCC of Greater New Haven complies with the latest state and federal guidelines and CDC recommendations including social distancing and extensive cleaning protocols. We remain committed to providing you and your family with the safest and most enjoyable experience possible. Thank you for your patience and cooperation during these unprecedented times as we all come together to adjust to our new normal.

General Information & Updates

 

  • View Pickleball & Racquetball Schedule

  • IMPORTANT UPDATE: Our revised mask protocol now requires that masks stay on during the game and in all common areas.

  • Effective September 8, we have expanded our racquetball hours and will now have a third court available. 

  • Attendance is by appointment only and must be made in advance. Members may register online (instructions listed below) or call the Welcome Desk (203-387-2424).

  • Each reservation is for 50 minutes.

  • Racquetball members can reserve up to two time-slots at a time. Allowing for a total of 2 hours of play.10 minutes will be allotted for cleaning between racquetball parties.

  • All visitors must wear a mask and bring their own towel and water bottle filled at home.

Racquetball & Pickleball Rules

 

The JCC of Greater New Haven is implementing the highest health and safety standards in regards to COVID-19 prevention as such, we ask that our members adhere to the strict protocols that we have outlined below. These rules are a requirement for participation in our programs.

 

  • Racquetball Games can ONLY BE PLAYED AS SINGLES. Pickleball games can be played as singles or doubles.

  • Mask must stay on during the game and in all common areas.

  • Members should use hand sanitizer before each game.

  • Members must bring their own racquets, balls, and water bottles.

  • In the event of an injury, player must report to Fitness or Pool staff.

  • Adhere to social distancing policies according to local, state, and federal authorities. Limit your distance to six feet or more from other players.

  • Avoid physical contact with others, such as hand-shaking and high fives.

  • Thoroughly wash your paddles, grips, balls, towels, clothes, bags, water bottles, and other items that were used or touched as soon as possible once you arrive home.

  • Adhere to CDC guidelines by not touching your face (after handling a ball or paddle).

  • No locker rooms and changing area – JCC building must be vacated immediately following your games.

How to Register for Pickleball Online

 

Members may register for Pickleball here via Program Registration. Do not register via Scheduler for Pickleball games. All Pickleball appointments must be registered for in advance. Click below for detailed instructions and to watch a short tutorial.

 

Plan Your Visit

 

Please check-in 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment.


Members must sign a waiver before entering the facility. Save time during check-in and download the waiver here

 

All pickleball and racquetball players will enter at the pool entrance and proceed through the family changing room to get to the gymnasium or racquetball courts.  The family changing room is off limits for changing or storing equipment.

 

 

All locker rooms, showers, and water fountains are closed at this time. Mask must stay on until game is about to begin and in all common areas.

 

Court times are scheduled for 50-minute slots to allow for cleaning in between sessions. Racquetball members can reserve up to two time-slots at a time for a total of 2 hours of play.10 minutes will be allotted for cleaning between racquetball parties.

 

At the end of your session(s), you will be asked to vacate the JCC building immediately following your games

 

 

Finally, though our locker rooms are closed, swimmers may use the restrooms in our pool hallway as needed, on a one-person-at-a-time basis. The restrooms will be cleaned by our maintenance team regularly.
