Camp Gesher offers one full week of fun in the sun after sessions 1 & 2 end. Camp Gesher is the time for a more relaxed, flexible, and informal day that still includes many of the earlier sessions activities. Parents provide transportation to and from Camp Gesher.

The Jewish Community Center’s summer camps provide children of all ages and backgrounds with a variety of unique camp options... all in one great location. Our camp facility features an outdoor pool, a 5,000 square foot indoor assembly space, sports fields, basketball courts, picnic areas, an archery range and four miles
of hiking trails spread over 54 acres. On rainy days, our campers feel right at home
in the JCC’s 106,000 square foot main facility, which includes an indoor pool, two
full-court gyms, an auditorium and plenty of space for having fun. Our Jewish day camps provide varied programs and an unrivaled summer experience incorporating Jewish tradition and learning into the camp day. Under the direction of experienced professionals, the JCC camps are staffed with specialists,experienced counselors and counselors-in-training, who offer their expertise in activities from aquatics to archery, hiking to hoops, computers to crafts and racquetball to water polo.


Camp Boker - Tziporim Ages 3½-4½
(Must be 3 by 1/1/08)
Campers use the Yeladim Childcare Center’s classrooms, playgrounds and gym. Indoor swim instruction included. Parents provide transportation for their children. Monday-Friday • 9am-1pm

Camp Boker Plus Ages 4½-5
(Must be 4 by 1/1/08)
A transitional program with mornings spent at
the Yeladim Childcare Center. Full-day campers spend some afternoons at Camp Shalom. Swim instruction included. Transportation available for full-day campers
only. Monday-Friday y • 9am-1pm or 9am-4pm

Camp Shalom
Grades K-5

Get a well-rounded camp experience including Red Cross-certified swim instruction and free swim, archery, drama, arts and crafts, dance, nature, music, sports, field trips and weekly special events. We celebrate Shabbat each Friday and Havdalah each Monday, and explore Judaic and Israeli culture through music, crafts and our annual Maccabiah (Olympics). Israeli specialists will enhance our camp experience. Swimmers (levels 3+) can participate in water polo, pool basketball or water volleyball during camp.

Performing Arts Camp (PAC)
Entering Grades 4-7

Learn how to create a performance. Our skilled staff will focus on voice, theater skills, warm ups, movement, acting, improvisation and dance, and touch on the behind-the-scenes aspects of theater, such as costume design and stage management. Participate in workshops, develop new skills, forge new relationships! Each session will culminate with a performance. Special field trips, performers and an overnight. Weekly Shabbat programming and optional Red Cross certified swim instruction offered.

Sports Camp for Girls and Boys
Entering Grades 4-6

Spend the summer doing what you like best: playing sports! Our skilled specialists will help build confidence by teaching the fundamentals of various sports, team play and sportsmanship. We’ll spend each morning at the JCC campsite enjoying whiffle ball, soccer, floor hockey, archery, optional Red Cross-certified instructional swim and more. Campers will spend afternoons playing the sport we’ve chosen for the week, with new sports continually offered. Choices may include gymnastics, soccer, baseball/softball, volleyball, tennis, basketball, bowling and racquetball. Most afternoon activities will be held off-site at locations like Veterans Memorial Park (Bethany West), Racebrook Road Tennis Courts, Bethany Community School and other facilities. The program may include an optional afternoon swim (at the lake at Bethany West for those who participate in activities at that location), field trips, optional overnights, and a weekly Shabbat program. At times, caliber, specialized coaches will supplement our experienced and talented JCC camp staff.


Camp Chalutzim
Entering Grades 6-9

For adventurous kids who love to travel and explore. Campers will enjoy day trips such as canoeing, hiking, amusement parks, shows and sporting events. We’ll dedicate one day every two weeks to community service. Overnight trips are included, with a stay at Club Getaway in the Berkshires (Kent) offered one session. The balance of the week is spent at our site where campers choose from special electives that may include crafts, aerobics, basketball, jewelry-making, performing arts, flag football, photography and videography, archery, Israeli dance, racquetball, soccer, cooking and volleyball. Daily swim is included. Our specialists help enhance the wonderful camp experience. We celebrate Shabbat each Friday, and explore Judaic and Israeli culture through music, crafts and our annual Maccabiah (Olympics).


Omanim (JCC Art Camp)
Entering Grades 6-9

Counselor-in-Training (CIT) Program

Join the CIT program for a great summer experience (Ages 14+). Teens work with children as counselors-in-training or staff assistants, learning responsibility while broadening interpersonal skills and knowledge. In addition, CITs receive leadership training from our CIT director and enjoy a monthly trip planned especially for them. All interested candidates must fill out an application and have an interview.
