Crystal Dunbar Crowned The JCC's Largest Loser.
Congratulations to Crystal Dunbar of Woodbridge, winner of the JCC's Largest
Loser Contest! Crystal lost 18.7% of total body weight during the 8-week
competition, and is now a recipient of a Lifetime Membership to the JCC!

The Blue Team won the Largest Loser Team Competition, with a team weight loss
of 222.8 pounds. All winning team members received makeovers from Progressions Salon.Great work, Red Team! Total team weight loss of 151.8 pounds.

Stay tuned for the next Largest Loser competition, coming January 2009!

Mark Modine Experience, Leadership, Commitment. With over 16 years of hands-on experience providing individualized sports-specific personal training, rehabilitation therapy, nutritional counseling and training to all fitness levels from professional athletes to the deconditioned. He also has experience in designing and developing fitness centers commercially as well as home gyms. Mark is a dynamic, positive, high energy and self motivated
professional determined to lead his team to success!

NSCA Certified Personal Trainer. NSCA Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist

Erika Shea
is dynamic fitness instructor/trainer that has been leading group exercise classes since 1994. She is certified through AFAA American Fitness Association of America, Spinning, YogaFit 1-3, Pilates Mat Training, Black Belt Kickbox. Her commitment to fitness and continuing education has made Erika into a well-rounded instructor that can lead any class with lots of energy and enthusiasm. A graduate of SCSU and current Milford
resident, Erika's goal is to motivate people in the New Haven area to love exercise and get healthy!

Red Team Trainers:

Frank Castiglione
A certified Holistic Health Counselor, Frank is trained in all the different dietary theories, eastern and western nutrition, modern health issues and personal health & development. A former Soccer player, he holds a Blue Belt inBrazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Kundalini Yoga and Power Vinyasa Yoga. Frank is consistent and strong in his approach to lead his team to making permanent lifestyle changes to succeed!
Bachelor's Degree in Public Policy and Law (currently working on his Master's Degree)
NASM Certified Personal Trainer. Certified Holistic Health Counselor through
Institute for Integrative Nutrition

Mindy Welker is as enthusiastic as they come! She holds group exercise and personal trainer certifications through internationally-recognized programs like AFAA (Aerobics and Fitness Association of America), Spinning, YogaFit (level 3) and the International Fitness Association. Since 2003, she has been teaching kickboxing, total body toning, yoga sculpting, and indoor cycling. Mindy's self-described passion is Spinning, an exercise she feels is for everybody in every body. As a trainer, Mindy encourages her clients to maintain a positive spirit through healthy eating choices and fitness-based lifestyle changes. Mindy holds a Masters in Teaching from Quinnipiac College, and lives in Bethany with her husband, 2 daughters, Yorkie "Tonto", and cat "Inka."
